Happy Independence Day!
We hope everyone had a fun 4th of July! Perfect weather, family and friends, and backyard games were just a few elements of our holiday. Emerson was outside bouncing and swimming all afternoon and had even more fun once her friend Bremer showed up to play! We grilled, ate a lot of desserts, and finally cuddled up in bed to watch amazing live fireworks (WAY too tired to fight the crowds in Okoboji). I literally wish every day was the 4th of July – always a favorite holiday!...
Toddler Talk
A certain someone missed her nap today. Sleep deprivation makes ‘Toddler Talk’ very interesting… “Mommy! Mommy! It’s emergency! EMERGENCY! A baby turkey is a little baby tiny nice turkey! It was gonna eat my hair all gone! It’s emergency over there in the yard! A tiny turkey is in that tree with a paci!” You don’t say… “These flowers are going to pop out a whole snack of food! These are doing pop out of flowers with blue strawberries! I going to eat ’em all gone!”...
It’s Officially Summer
Summertime! It’s finally here and this past week we enjoyed as many summer activities as we could possibly squeeze in. Sunday I took Emerson to the new splash pad in town — judging by the amount of people there, it’s a huge hit. I only had to run through the sprinklers (in my clothes) with her once before she was brave enough to run wild on her own. We went to Taco House and dried off with some nachos and burritos before calling it a day. Later in the week we had our first trip of the season to Arnold’s Park.
