As Emerson’s first birthday approaches, the urge to walk down memory lane grows stronger. I’ve referred to the blog several times for details of my pregnancy and her first few months only to find I had skimmed right over some significant events. My philosophy, as far as blogging goes, has been to capture as much as I can while it’s happening — if I wait too long to write about something it loses significance and I move forward. Until now. In this rapidly changing baby world I am beginning to forget those warm fuzzy details that I thought would stay with me forever – how tiny she was, her toothless smile, the sleepless nights … In attempt to remember, I want to recount those fleeting moments.

My first instinct was to write a mass entry collecting all the things I wish I had accounted for in the past year. As my list grew longer I decided to find a more realistic approach.  To give the blog a bit of a twist, I’m going to throw in some oldies and compare them to where we ended up a year later. We’ll see how this works until we’re eventually all caught up!
