Summertime! It’s finally here and this past week we enjoyed as many summer activities as we could possibly squeeze in.
Sunday I took Emerson to the new splash pad in town — judging by the amount of people there, it’s a huge hit. I only had to run through the sprinklers (in my clothes) with her once before she was brave enough to run wild on her own. We went to Taco House and dried off with some nachos and burritos before calling it a day. Later in the week we had our first trip of the season to Arnold’s Park. Emerson was psyched to get her season pass and after an entire winter of driving by the park every single day, she finally got to go inside. She was excited to try some new rides that she was too small for last year. It was more than a little freaky for me to watch her board a roller coaster (even if it was just her speed), but she loved every second! We finished out the week with a gorgeous night of swimming and kayaking. We are so blessed to have such amazing family in our lives! Emerson and her cousin Jackson had a blast in the sand while baby Etta watched from her blanket. Em wasn’t quite as excited about the kayaking but I enjoyed it enough for both of us. Looking forward to many more fun nights just like that! Did I mention Mimi is home for the next month! E is in heaven!
