Night Before Christmas

Christmas Eve Day was full of family, friends and food! It marked the first day of waking up to a house full of Naber girls (and Gene) — a week-long tradition we hold dearly. Thanks to Emerson my sisters didn’t get to sleep in as late as they would like considering they were on vacation, but they were just as happy to wake up to her as she was to have them here! One highlight of the day was catching up with some of my favorite friends over lunch!  I couldn’t feel more blessed to have these women in my life and am so proud of each one of them! I am excited to see what gifts 2013 brings to them!

Christmas Eve mass quickly approached and poor little Emerson missed out entirely thanks to a very late afternoon nap. We came back to a delicious chili dinner and a cozy night at home. Gifts are reserved for Christmas morning, but I had one special treat for Emerson to open that night. She was thrilled to find a brand new pair of her favorite shoes that she had outgrown — the final touch to her Christmas Eve attire. I’m not exaggerating when I say she wore the shoes for the next straight 48 hours. We had the traditional photo-shoot featuring infamous Naber ‘Christmas Train’ and then read books about the Christmas story and Baby Jesus which Emerson has been very interested in this year. She loves nativity scenes and naming all of the animals/characters. Next year I will be sure to find a kid-friendly version of this for her. She stayed up late playing the piano with Aunt Mimi and slept very peacefully for once!Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012 Christmas Eve 2012
