3 Years Old and Loving…

Books. Over the summer Dragons Love Tacos was hands down her favorite book. It’s a really fun story with lots of repetition that just begs for her to jump in and finish the sentences for me!  The great part about this book is that I never tire of reading it; the weird sense of humor and zany storytelling are right up my alley. With that in mind, imagine my excitement when I discovered a book by the name of Secret Pizza Party, also written by Adam Rubin and illustrated by Daniel Salmieri. Check it out on Bookworm.com as it’s the ‘October Book of the Month’ (30% off ain’t bad!)! You can...

Fall 1.0

Our fall season hasn’t gotten off to the greatest start, but we’re looking forward to a fun-filled, virus-expunged second half! You know you’ve got a sick 3-year-old on your hands when she finally opens her eyes at 9 am only to look around for a minute and go back to sleep. We’ve both been plagued by some lingering bronchitis the past several weeks along with some lovely episodes of cough until you gag or worse. Pretty gross for you to read, but really, poor us! We gathered family and friends at Memorial Park for a pizza picnic and outdoor fun. After temps in the 90’s for most of the past week, a 70 degree day felt almost chilly! A low-key party in the park was the perfect mix of food and fun for E and her guests. Did I mention Emerson specifically requested a ‘Black and White’ themed party? For several months she stuck to her guns and insisted on a black and white cake (chocolate with white frosting) and white balloons. She also...

She’s three…. and then some!

My sassy cowgirl turned 3! Emerson rang in her third year with her dad and his family and friends in Humboldt. We all got together for a celebration last Saturday which was full of big surprises… and ice cream cake. Thank you to all who made this day special for her! Three years has gone too quickly as it is and she’s already telling me she’s 3-1/2. I wonder how old she’ll be by the time her next birthday rolls around. This may be a long year… With age comes great responsibility. Emerson has been an A+ student in the potty-training program these past few weeks. After months and months...
