We had quite the week in the Naber-Stockdale residence! Somebody celebrated her 2 month birthday with a trip to the doctor on Tuesday. Those nasty shots were upstaged by a wonderful progress report — she’s grown to 23.5 in and 12 lbs! Her little noggin is trying to catch up with the rest of her body measuring in at 14 cm. All that dancing and tummy time has really paid off because she already has excellent muscle control and development. As we like to say, she’s advanced. That same day we had a fun visit from Grandma Lynnette and Twyla. Later in the week Emerson got to hang with the...
Baby Central
Daylight Savings weekend was good to us. Yesterday morning we took a family trip to Des Moines and had Emerson’s two-month photos taken. She hammed it up for the camera as usual and I think we got some great shots. It’s hard not to love every picture but I’m excited about the ones we ordered and can’t wait to get them back next week! We also made stops at the Waterfront Fish Market for sushi, Suite Dreams to shop for the much-anticipated baby Hoffman, and finally Trader Joe’s so we could say we experienced the madness. Today we hung around at home celebrating Emme’s 2 month birthday and I used...
Typical Naber Girl
I am totally wishing this was my day job… After watching America’s Next Top Model last night, Emerson wanted to have a photo shoot. It’s no surprise that she’s already figured out how to fit right in with our family. We had a slight wardrobe malfunction thanks to over excitement too soon after eating but it didn’t seem to slow her down. She’s definitely ready to have her two month baby pics taken this weekend; I think she deserves a new hat!...
Tricks or Treats
It’s pumpkin day for my little pumpkin! Emme and I kicked off the Halloween weekend by watching ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.’ She loved the Peanuts theme song and will be jamming out on the piano before we know it (my motherly intuition told me so). We had a great time with Gram and Gramps – watched Iowa dominate and ate a lot of brownie cookies! The days always seem to go way too fast but we’re thankful they could stay as long as they did! Emme looked adorable in her ‘First Halloween’ outfit and enjoyed the novelty of wearing orange. We didn’t see any trick-or-treaters this year but...
Time
With each new day, I know a little more than the day before. After only 8 short weeks of motherhood the subject matter of the things ‘I Know’ has changed dramatically! It didn’t just happen over night; I definitely remember the moment when I realized I had really gotten to know Emerson. What a magical feeling. In the past, having 7 consecutive weeks off from work would have felt like winning the lottery. Now that it’s finally come and gone I find it’s only a fraction of the time I would have liked. Each day of baby vacation was measured in more ways than I can count – number of...
