It’s been a great week but it’s time to get back to reality. I blinked and it’s Thursday. How can this be? We’ve been in Spirit Lake since Saturday and it’s already time to go. As my Christmas vacation wraps itself up I’m realizing that when you have a small child, a week off doesn’t necessarily equate ‘vacation.’ While it’s been great to lounge in our pj’s while watching movies and napping… I’m only a fraction less exhausted than before I arrived. Christmas vacation so far… We traveled through some wild weather to spend Christmas Eve in Humboldt. Despite blizzard conditions we made it safely and enjoyed the evening with Nic’s family. Christmas morning was very relaxed and full of gifts and Christmas stories. Emerson and I traveled north to Spirit Lake later in the morning where we spent the next week. Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Babies have a way of putting magic into each day and this is no different for holidays. As we’re gearing up for Christmas, Emerson has made it impossible for me to forget the true reason for the excitement in my heart during this time. We have been blessed beyond belief this year and are thankful for every moment with our silly, sweet, three-month old daughter! Forgive the cliche, but Emerson is growing like a weed!
