A month after the fact, I’m finally getting around to posting pictures of Emerson’s 1 year photo shoot! We had a blast with the girls at Digital Galleria Designs and Emerson was delighted by all the attention. She was in a very silly mood and the hardest part of the whole day was ordering photos (thankfully cleaning cake off the floor wasn’t our worry). We brought balloons, a rocking chair from when I was her age, lots of hair accessories that she wouldn’t leave on her head, bubbles, my favorite 30-year-old Okoboji sweatshirt (my dad gave it to my mom while they were dating) and of course cake! Birthday Fun: Part 3
The big finale of the birthday was presents and cake, of course! Emme has come a long way in figuring out how to get those gifts open! We put in some time at ‘paper-tearing’ camp this summer and all of those ripped-up magazines were worth it! I plan on spending more time practicing cake decorating because even after making the 3rd cake of the birthday season, the vision didn’t quite come through. I blame all of those cake-baking reality shows that make it look so easy! Even though it looked amateur, Emerson was thrilled to get cake, frosting, strawberries and blueberries all in one shot!...
Birthday Fun: Part 2
I can’t imagine a more perfect 1st birthday! Emerson worked up a big appetite today playing with her new toy car and walking! For the first time she took four well-balanced consecutive steps! I especially love that she waited for her 1st birthday to surprise me! Here we are playing and enjoying our afternoon together....
