We finally had the perfect afternoon free to set up the pool Emme got for her birthday last year (thanks, Smiths!). She never quite found the courage to actually get inside of it, but the sprinkler feature was a hit! We took turns running through the water and dipping our toes until E was ready for some relaxation and a snack in the shade. Our time spent outside wouldn’t be complete without finding a great stick and ‘tending’ to the plants....
Aunt Jory
My sister, Jory, came for a visit Friday night! Emerson is all about her aunts so this was a special treat! It was quite the hot day so the sprinkler and ice cream were definite musts along with several dance parties, lots of singing and unfortunately a lot of drooling and boogies thanks to E’s cold. Despite not feeling great, Emerson loved every minute of Jory’s visit, especially driving her car! Thanks for coming, Chroma!...
Iowa Children’s Museum
On St. Patty’s Day, my sisters took Emerson and me to the Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville for some creative play. While we were there Emerson did some grocery shopping, visited the hospital, played several instruments, built a car, and learned about gravity! I’m sure she’ll get more out of it when she’s a little older, but I would still recommend it to any parents looking for a fun place to let their tots explore!...

Sunday morning we woke up with the sun and went along with Nic to his favorite fishing spot. The scenery was literally picture-perfect and I now understand why he ventures there so often. Emerson and I had fun hiking around, bird-watching, and finding sticks while Bela tore through the grass enjoying every last second of freedom in the wild.
