Today I stalked Emerson with the camera to capture her latest and greatest! It’s been a while since I’ve shared any milestone updates, so today I made a point to follow Emerson around with my camera to show you what she’s been up to… She’s been very interested in arranging, stacking, re-arranging and grouping objects lately. With a little help from Grandpa, this is the makings of a foam shapes tower — I imagine someday all 84 pieces will be stacked! After breakfast we said goodbye to Grandpa Gene and his beard until the next visit. I’m sure he was ready to get home and relax after all the playing...
Birthday Flashback
Happy 1/2 Birthday, Big E! In honor of Emerson’s half-birthday coming up in a few days, I decided to finally gather up the 1 year birthday party photos! I was so wrapped up in everything going smoothly that day, I barely took any pics myself (lucky for me that’s what grandmas are for)! It’s fun to look back and really see how quickly they grow up! I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months! Thanks to everyone who made this such a fun day! ...
February Fun (Finally)
After canceling our plans several times, Emerson and I finally made it to Spirit Lake last weekend! We had a lot of fun with Grammy and Grandpa; in fact, they kept us pretty busy with sledding, shopping and nail painting! Grandpa must have been working his magic too because Emerson could have spent the whole day outside riding around the yard on the toboggan (even Bela had a spark of interest in this activity)!...
Lazy Bones
Our year hasn’t been off to the greatest start. Plagued by colds, stomach flu, pink eye and a broken foot we decided to use the weekend to get well again in hopes that our bad health is only a January thing and not a 2012 thing! Emerson slept in until 9:30 the past two mornings which says a lot in itself. After a lazy weekend I think we’re finally feeling like ourselves again. ...
Say Queso…
…because everybody needs a cheesy night out once in a while! It’s no wonder that since having a toddler the frequency at which we eat out has dropped to practically nothing. It only took a few bad experiences to realize eating out was far more work than dining in. Spilled drinks, toddler tantrums and unspeakable messes are better held in the privacy of our own home. There does happen to be one magical place in town that is stimulating enough to captivate Emme for an entire meal: El Charro. Fun music, lively murals, friendly service and food on our table in a matter of minutes is a winning combination. Emme...
