Happy Birthday to my little honey bee! She’s by far the sweetest thing in my life. From tiny… to tot! ...
Birthday Countdown
Emerson had her 1 year photos taken yesterday! We had a blast — luckily it was a very photogenic day. She smiled pretty and I’m excited to unveil the photos… next weekend! Trust me, they’re wonderful. Until then, here she is eating toast and lasagna. I wish I could say she had as much fun smashing her cake at the photo shoot as she did last night eating dinner....
Flower Baby
After 11 months of struggling to find the key to a good baby photo, I discover props! Obviously no photo pro, but one step closer? Every month I hype myself up about sitting Emerson down and capturing the adorableness that I fall in love with many times a day. This has become more and more of a daunting task each month as she’s learned to roll, scoot, crawl and eventually walk. Hundreds of extreme close-ups, blurry frames and severed limbs later, eureka! Since then, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s spurted right past 30 inches which is the length limit of the infant seat. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that even though she’s more than tripled in size she’s still a baby! Her weight was 19.6 lbs (75 percentile) and is a main attribute to my developing mom muscles. We’ve fallen into the habit of waiting until the middle of the month to attempt the milestone photo shoot, but here it is – hot off the memory card! ...
Monkey See, Monkey Do
We’ve been chasing Emerson around the house ever since she started crawling 6 weeks ago. It’s rare to find her sitting in one place for more than a few seconds which is why it took me two weeks to accomplish a few decent 8 month pictures. Our little monkey is a silly girl and already loves copying us. She repeats clapping, waving, making tongue clicking sounds, and even tried tossing her hair back just like her mom the other day. She loves exploring her new house and pulls herself up on anything and everything she can reach. I’ve recently added baby food to the list of things I like to...
