Hippity Hoppity, Easter’s on its way! Emerson was able to see all 4 grandparents over the holiday weekend. We started it off Friday morning with a long drive to Spirit Lake. It was relaxing to get there early in the afternoon and to spend the day with Gram before everyone else made it home. E had a blast with her Aunties and I have to say Jory was hands-down the favorite this visit… sorry Meg but you know it’s true! The absolute highlight of the weekend for Emerson was the Easter egg hunt. Her natural inclination to carry a basket or purse at all times was a huge advantage. Gram’s egg...
February Fun (Finally)
After canceling our plans several times, Emerson and I finally made it to Spirit Lake last weekend! We had a lot of fun with Grammy and Grandpa; in fact, they kept us pretty busy with sledding, shopping and nail painting! I never in a million years would have been brave enough to paint this wild girl’s nails, but her Gram sure had the magic touch. Grandpa must have been working his magic too because Emerson could have spent the whole day outside riding around the yard on the toboggan (even Bela had a spark of interest in this activity)!...
Christmas Staycation
We hope everyone had a joyful Christmas this year! Emerging from a week of relaxation in Spirit Lake I am feeling dazed to say the least. Where am I? What day is it? What YEAR is it? Blog, what blog? Now that we’re home and back into the daily swing of things, it’s time to share some holiday joy! The past few weeks have been a blur – just like every other holiday in my experience. Emerson spent Christmas with my family this year and since being home we’ve noticed some definite spoilage after constant attention from aunts and grandparents! Emme was the first to begin opening gifts and the last...
Spirit City Weekend
It’d be crazy to pass up quality family time in Spirit Lake — especially during the summer so this past weekend called for a road trip. We’re still working out the kinks of long car rides, but I find strategic shopping pit-stops are a good way to break it up… even if I still end up singing the Indian Fight song until I lose my voice. In addition to the Rossow Family road warriors, the whole family was home. We tried to make the most of a quick weekend getaway and had a great time exploring Okoboji with our cousins and relaxing at home with my Aunt and Uncle. The...
Fourf of July
Too hot for broken AC… It may have taken a few attempts, but Emerson, Bela and I finally made it to Spirit Lake Saturday morning. We had a full yet relaxing schedule and beautiful weather for the Fourth of July weekend. Emerson explored Okoboji for the first time and has me convinced the Naber family needs a lake house! She picked up a few new talents while visiting – Grams unknowingly taught her to shake her finger at the dog when he barks. Maybe this disciplinary action will come in handy? Emme also discovered that she can let go of the edge of the couch and balance on her own...
